Oakland Floral Depot
1900 Telegraph Avenue, Oakland, CA
Oakland Floral Depot
Designed by Albert Evers in 1931 and clad in cobalt blue and silver terra-cotta tile, the Oakland Floral Depot is one of the finest Art Deco buildings in the East Bay. The building sat vacant for years and faced demolition before preservationists — led by the Art Deco Society of California — successfully fought to save it. Weinstein Local acquired the property in 2007 and undertook a careful restoration of its historic facade, earning a Partners in Preservation Award in 2008. Today the building is fully occupied by a celebrated mix of food and beverage tenants.
